Rodney Roberts - Head Coach

 

Football Bio:

Rodney Roberts is a graduate of Franklin High School in Franklin, Ohio.  Rodney received his Bachelors degree in Education from the University of Dayton in 1993 and received his Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati in 2010.  Rodney has been in education for 20 years, serving the last eight as the Director of Athletics for the Franklin City School District.

While at the University of Dayton, Rodney was a three year varsity letter winner in football and a member of the 1989 National Championship Team.  His coaching career began at the University of Dayton in 1993 as a graduate assistant coach.

Rodney has been coaching at the high school level for the past twenty seasons, two as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator, and the last eighteen as a Varsity Head Football Coach.  As a head coach he spent six seasons at Carlisle High School (1996-2001), four seasons at Springboro High School (2002-2005), and the last eight at Franklin High School (2006-2013).  In January of 2014, Rodney was named the Head Football Coach at Centerville High School.  Some of the awards won during Rodney’s head coaching career are:

  • Southwestern Buckeye League Coach of the Year (2001, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013)
  • Mid-Miami League Coach of the Year (2005)
  • Div. II Southwest Ohio Coach of the Year (2004, 2005, 2011)
  • Div. III Southwest Ohio Coach of the Year (2008)
  • Div. IV Southwest Ohio Coach of the Year (2001)
  • Marvin Lewis Community Fund Coach of the Year (2004)
  • Div. II Miami Valley Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year (2005, 2011, 2012)
  • Div. IV Miami Valley Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year (2001)
  • Under Armour All Ohio North-South Classic, Assistant Coach (2013)
  • Big 33 All Star Football Game, Assistant Coach (2004)
  • Miami Valley Football Coaches Association All Star Game, Head Coach (2002)

 

Rodney and his wife Cheryl reside in Franklin with their children Brooke, Brittany, Bayleigh, and Ryan, along with their grandchildren Greyson and Lula.
